About the Library

• The Present College  Library was established in 1957 with 780 volumes of books in a small room.
• • Now the collection has raised to 65,226 with 50 periodicals and magazines.
• The independent library building was build in the year 1990 with the contribution of UGC and College fund of  Rs.7.17 lakhs .

• E-Lib software is used for Library automation and OPAC is provided for searching.  
• Access to e-Journals is available through INFLIBNET consortium and J-Gate Basic Science subscription.

Services and Facilities:

Library Hours: 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. (on  working days)
                                  8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. (  During Examination)

• Each student is provided identity card and Borrower's card. Books are issued on Borrower's card on fortnightly basis and one set of books on PSLL form (Poor student Lending Library) upto semester exams.
• The barcode facility is also provided.
• OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) search facility is provided to the students and staff to enable them for easy access to the resources of the library..
• Library provides lending, reference, photocopy and Inter library loan facility to the students.
• The Librarian ensures the purchasing of current titles in consultation with the respective departments. Suggestions from the students also taken in to consideration in purchase of books.
• Separate section is provided for competitive examination and career guidance books.
• Computers are available in the library for OPAC services, access to e- journals.

Books Available:

• It is obligatory on all students of the College to be members of the library.
• Strict silence and discipline should be maintained in the reading rooms of the library.
• Books will be issued only on presentation of the Identity Card of the student.
• Readers shall not write in or otherwise disfigure/ damage books furniture etc. in case of such damage the two times the cost of the articles shall be paid by the users or the article shall be replaced by the user.
• If any student loses his or her Identity Card /Borrowers Card, a Fee of Rs.50/- and 25/- will be charged respectively for issue of Duplicate Identity Card/Borrowers Card.
