Objectives :
- To conceive, design and develop a structured procedure to conduct the theory and practical examination of UG and PG courses of the college.
- To maintain the records related to college semester end examination and results.
- To finalise the accounts related to college semester end examination and submit the
same to the office.
- Transparency in Examination
Responsibility:
The excel shall be authorized unequivocally to formulate and finalize the procedures for the smooth conduct of examination and to remove the fear of exam and encourage the students to learn and self assess their performance.
The cell is empowered to direct all the departments to adopt all such necessary changes that are brought in the EXCEL module from time to time and monitor and regulate the implementation of the process.

Registering for the semester end examination
-
There shall be an examination conducted by the college at the end of the each semester as notified by the college from time to time.

A student shall register for all the prescribed papers of a semester when he/she appears for the examination of that semester for the first time.
-
A student failing to satisfying the attendance requirement during the prescribed semester shall not be allowed to appear for the semester end examination.

Examinations are conducted by the college on the approval of the candidates Name, eligibility, acquiring the prescribed age limit and payment of prescribed free. The college prescribes and fixes the calendar of events each year as per its regulations but it can be varied or postponed to meet the exigencies of the college to avoid clash of dates.

Internal assessment of candidates is an innovation in the scheme of examination system Internal assessment of each paper forms part of it and should be consider as a question set at the exam.
Scheme of Examination
-
The college shall conduct an examination after the completion of every semester.
-
Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIA) – waitage 50%
-
Comprises internal tests announced and unannounced, home assignments and skills – problem solving skills, group discussion, quiz, seminar, mini projects.

Semester end examination (SEE) – saitage 50%
-
Consist of written examination for both in theory and practical.
-
The CIA would be conducted throughout the semester on dates to be announced in advance by the examination section and its results made known to the students form time to time.

Official notification of the internal test should be notified.
Standards of Passsing:
-
The minimum marks for passing in the continuous internal assessment CIA and SEE shall be 50% for both theory and practical ( 2007 to 2009 batch students and 40% for both theory and practicals for 2009 and 2010 batch onwards)

Subsequently supplementary test shall be conducted for internal test for absentees / unsuccessful candidates based on the valid reasons.

The minimum marks for passing in the semester and exam shall be 50% aggregate for both theory and practical.
Duration of the examination :
- One hour for internal test and three hours duration for the semester end examination for theory.
- Four hours for practical internal test and semester end practical examination.
Question paper pattern :

For internal test, one set of question papers shall be prepared by the concerned faculty.

The question papers for semester end examination shall be drawn in two sets by one internal examiner and one external examiner appointed by COE from the panel of examiners given by BOAE of the respective subjects.

The question paper pattern shall be uniform for the subjects except in languages.

The question papers shall be scrutinized by both internal and external examiners.

The random chosen question paper by COE in respective subject shall be printed one day before the commencement of examination.
Conduct of Examinations :
Central Valuation :

Each answer script should have two slips / bar coded for evaluation.

The evaluation of the answer scripts shall be made by external examiner appointed by COE.

There shall be provision for remuneration to the for examiners for both theory and practical semester end examination.
Announcement of Results :
- The results shall be announced within 20 days after the completion of evaluation.
Provision To Appeal :
- There shall be no provision for re-totaling of marks and revaluation of answer scripts.
- There shall be a provision for challenge evaluation of answer scripts by payment of prescribed fee and valued by Board of Examiners.
Award of Class And Ranks :
The class is awarded to successful candidate will be as follows : 50 to 59.99% Pass class, 60 to 69.99% second class, 70 to 79.99% - First Class, 80 and above – first class with Distinction.
Award of Successful Candidates
Three ranks shall be awarded to the successful candidates scoring highest number of marks in internal and semester end examination, after completion of the course in First class with Distinction. The candidates have to pass in first attempt in all semesters for declaration of the ranks. Disciplinary Action :

There shall be a disciplinary action against the students who involve in any of the malpractices and other irregularities in the examination process.

There shall be a disciplinary action against the teaching and non-teaching members of staff, who involve in any of the irregularities in the examination process.

Such will be enquired by the sub committee constituted by the Academic council.

The disciplinary action or scale of punishment suggested by sub committee formed and recommended by the Academic Council Shall be approved / altered by the Governing Body.
Award of Degrees :
- The degree shall be awarded by the parent university in accordance with the statute of karnatak university Dharwad for autonomous college students who have successfully completed the course.
- There shall be Annual Graduation Ceremony for the award of the degree to students completing the prescribed requirements of academic programmes in consultation with the University.
- The name of the college may be mentioned in the degree certificate.
- There shall be prizes and awards instituted by the college to meritorious students for being given annually at the graduation ceremony.
